Worldview Pro

The project

Jacob Electric Group was rebranding into Worldview Pro and needed a product to match: a web platform with iOS and Android apps. There was an MVP that had proved the idea but not the architecture. It could not carry a real user base.

The group had already worked with me on Find Visa Counsellor. In December 2021 they asked the same team to take Worldview Pro from MVP to launch.

My role

I started as project manager and full-stack developer. From 2023 I led the distributed engineering team as Senior Software Developer: six engineers across three time zones.

The order mattered. Infrastructure came first: AWS environments, CI and a new Laravel API designed for the load we expected. The MVP front-end stayed live until the new one reached feature parity, which I rebuilt in Nuxt.js on the new API.

The rebrand landed in the middle of the build, so the design language changed under the team. I froze the brand system before we rebuilt screens, then rolled it out across web and mobile as Jacob Electric Group became Worldview Pro.

Real-time video and messaging were hard requirements for a small team. We used Agora and Twilio for those, with fallbacks, and owned everything else. I owned the API contract and coordinated releases across web and both mobile apps, so all three shared one Laravel API and one design system.

With engineers in three time zones and no shared process, I kept the fixed rituals to two: written daily updates and code review. Around those sat sprint planning and mentoring.

What changed

• Worldview Pro launched on web, iOS and Android under the new brand.
• It has been maintained and scaled since launch.
• The team runs on written updates and code review rather than meetings, without daily supervision.
