Who this is for

You have one clear problem and a date it has to be solved by. The site needs rebuilding before a relaunch. The platform has to move off a stack nobody wants to maintain. A product has to go live before a funding round or a busy season. You do not need a new head of anything; you need the thing done, properly, by someone who is accountable for it.

How it works

• Audit. I read the code, the analytics and the backlog, and talk to the people who will live with the result.
• Scope and plan. A written scope, a plan and a fixed price. Change the scope and we re-quote; otherwise the number does not move.
• Build in small releases. Weekly demos, so you see real progress rather than status reports. Where it is possible I ship piece by piece behind the live site, so problems show up early.
• Hand over. Documentation and a walk-through for whoever runs it next.

Most projects run six to sixteen weeks.

• Written scope and plan: what is in, what is out, and when each part lands.
• Weekly demos of working software, not slides.
• Delivery with your team or mine. I work alongside your developers, or bring in people from Devute under my supervision, and I say which up front.
• Documentation and handover, so the project does not depend on me once it is live.

What it is not

It is not open-ended. If the problem is still vague, or the real issue is that nobody is leading the team, a fixed-price project will not fix it. In that case a team audit or fractional leadership is the better start, and I will tell you so.

How is it priced? Fixed price, from £2,500, quoted before we start. Agreed scope, agreed price, agreed date.

Who actually does the work? I own the project and write code on it. For extra build capacity I bring in people from Devute under my supervision, and that is in the scope.

What happens after launch? You get the documentation and the handover. If you want ongoing help, we agree it separately.
