Forward-deployed engineering
I join your team as a forward-deployed engineer: on your standups, in your codebase, shipping alongside your people until the thing is live.
Who this is for
Startups and product teams under pressure. There is a launch date, a key feature, or a platform change that has to land, and the team is too stretched to get there on its own. Adding a contractor who works from a ticket queue will not help. You need someone inside the team: in the standups, in the codebase, making decisions alongside your people.
How it works
- Join in the first week. I get access to your tools, sit in your rituals and pick up a first piece of real work straight away.
- Ship with the team. I work on the critical path alongside your engineers: features, architecture, reviews and releases.
- Raise the bar as I go. Code review, written updates and small process changes where they remove friction, not a new methodology imposed from outside.
- Step out. When the thing is live and the team can carry it, I hand over and leave.
An embed is full-time and usually runs three to six months.

Why me
I have done this from both sides. On Worldview Pro I planned the API and infrastructure, built the front-end and later led a distributed team of six across three time zones, where written daily updates and code review were the only fixed rituals. On Find Visa Counsellor I led a team of developers, mobile engineers and a designer from rebuild to launch, and finished by training the internal team to run it without me.
What it is not
It is not staff augmentation by the hour, and it is not open-ended. An embed has a goal and an end. If you need a senior developer for a few days a week, hands-on development is the lighter option.
