Web development from zero
Learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript by building one real website, then deliver it the way a freelancer does.
This course starts with how the web works and ends with a website you built yourself, for a real person, delivered the way a freelancer delivers it. You write every line. Nothing is copied from a template.
Why I teach it
I have built websites for clients since 2013, first in WordPress and later with Laravel, Nuxt and React. Today I run Devute and lead a development team. The course follows the order I use when I bring a new developer onto my own team.
How it runs
Classes are live over Zoom, in cohorts. Every session is recorded and posted the same day, so a missed class is not a lost week. Your code is reviewed the way I review work from my team: line by line, with reasons.
What you will build
One responsive website, built from a design, with working JavaScript, kept in Git and deployed live. In the final stretch you scope it, build it, get it reviewed and hand it over, as you would for a paying client.
What you’ll be able to do
- Explain how browsers, servers and files fit together
- Build and deploy a responsive site from a design
- Write clean JavaScript for real interactions
- Use Git and GitHub like a working developer
- Scope, quote and deliver a first freelance job
- Complete beginners who have never written code
- Career changers who want a practical way into web work
- Marketers who want to stop waiting for a developer
A laptop and eight hours a week. No coding experience needed.
